Fly Fishing Knots: Homer Rhode Loop Animation
The Homer Rhode Loop is used for attaching a fly to 60-to 100-pound shock tippet. It's not a strong knot for tippets smaller than 60 pound.

How to Tie the Homer Rhode Loop
2. Pass the end of the tippet through the eye of the fly and back through the overhand knot you just tied.
3. Gently work the overhand knot back until it touches the eye of the hook.
4. Tie another overhand knot around the tippet. Make sure it encircles the standing part of the tippet, and the distance between this knot and the first one will determine the size of the loop.
5. Wet both knots and make a firm pull on the fly and standing part of the leader until the two knots jump together. Trim the tag end.
