How to Tie the Uni Knot

1. Pass the tag end of the tippet down through the eye of the fly and pull about 6 inches through.

2. Form a loop on the lower side of the tippet so that the loop is double at the top and single at the bottom.

3. Wind the tag end around the doubled part of the loop five turns, winding away from the fly.

4. Wet the knot and pull on the fly, tag end, and standing part of the line at the same time. Give the tag end one final tug and trim it.
