Besides structure, there are other ways of locating game fish in the
shallows. Birds diving on bait fish is one of the best. It's amazing how
quickly birds will find feeding fish and dive on the bait fish they push to
the surface. Look for bait fish jumping from the water, fish rising to the
surface, just like trout in a stream, or tails and fins sticking out of
the water. These are the quickest ways to locate feeding game fish.
