13. Euro nymphing with streamers (13 of 20)

You can fish streamers at short distances using a modified Euro nymphing technique. None of your fly line touches the water so it helps to have a long leader, over 12 feet long, and a longer rod to keep fly line off the water. Use a small, heavily weighted streamer or a split shot ahead of your streamer. Lob the fly upstream, and with a high rod dip, keep constant tension on the fly and twitch it slightly as it rolls down in the current.
This is a deadly imitation of a sculpin or crippled baitfish.
